BRILLIANTISM: I'M GOING TO EXPLAIN THIS EPISODE OF... →
While Lost shuffled towards the coffin in its own cluttered attic, Fringe remodeled the high rise of its own intent. You can’t envy Lost’s endgame responsibilities; the show had to light as many peace pipes possible. Lost allowed for Fringe, but that doesn’t make it fair to compare the finales, or…
While I actually really, really, enjoyed the LOST finale, I definitely agree that FRINGE...

What do they say?
That’s the comeback the corn industry has to the bad reputation High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) has (You know what they say). It’s always really bugged me the way the commercial makes the detractor some uneducated person and then the smart person sets him straight.
How about this Princeton study then?
When rats are drinking high-fructose corn syrup at levels well below those in soda...

Begun, the phone war, has.
Steve Jobs has been fairly vocal lately about what he thinks of Google. He’s been quoted as saying that Google’s “Don’t be evil” company policy is BS and that Google is out to destroy the iPhone. Now I can’t confirm or deny that Google is evil, but I can say one thing about Google wanting to destroy the iPhone… Duh? Google is a competitor and up until a...

If hypocrisy was distilled into a person...
… that person would be Sarah Palin.
She keeps doing the same thing over and over and they keep buying it. She’s not even subtle in her manipulation and she’s succeeding. I feel like I could very easily put folksy words along with hyperbole, fake outrage, and “easy fixes” to make a speech that would have the RNC following me to the ends of the earth… Hmmm…...

iReasons
If you have to think of a reason for it… you don’t need it. This is basically my feeling towards the… I’m just gonna call it the iTab. I’ve seen sites posting reasons why the iTab is actually really amazing and groundbreaking, but if you have to tell me why I need to have it and what I would use it for; then I just plain don’t need it.
The argument I’ve...

Here’s my problem with this…. everything.
It’s is essentially a large iPod Touch/iPhone; meaning it still doesn’t multi-task and it still doesn’t have flash. The phone in my pocket multi-tasks and will soon have flash. Who out there wants a larger version of their phone? My phone (Nexus One) is more capable than an iPhone, but even I don’t want a larger...

"Is this email really from the IRS?"
I get questions like this from people at my work quite often and I figured I would address and educate people about it so that you don’t fall for it.
Here is what the email looks like
Taxpayer ID: your_name-00000660988660US
Tax Type: INCOME TAX
Issue: Unreported/Underreported Income (Fraud Application)
Please review your tax statement on Internal Revenue Service (IRS) website (click on...

Let's bring it back
I know I’ve been M.I.A. for a while…. that’s the military term not the singer. Let’s try and make up for some of that today.
Start of with a nice dose of Jon Stewart. Here he is doing a great parody of Glenn Beck for over 8 minutes.

I thought maybe you were cool deep down, McCain
I was wrong.
McCain is looking to block Net Neutrality with the “Internet Freedom Act.” Now this sounds an awful lot like Net Neutrality and I’m 100% sure it was designed to do just that and confuse people. What they really mean is freedom for the corporations to do whatever they want with the internet. Maybe Comcast will start a tier system. Basic internet for $60. Oh you want...

Bill O’Reilly making sense?! Why couldn’t he have been this way the whole time? It’s been the case for a long time that, as John Stewart said, “They hate Obama more than they love America.” But right here in this clip Bill O actually makes the point (ON FOX NEWS!) that Obama winning the Nobel Peace Prize, deserved or not, is a good thing for America.
Yes, he...

How does he still have a TV show? Oh right… he has an “audience.”
I kind of want to punch him. I can’t wait for the future when idiots like him will be less and less. Though I do know plenty of people in my generation who subscribe to his views. Honestly, can’t we all just get along? Oh right. No, we can’t.
South Park still has it right. If we get rid of...

You don't tell MUSE what to do.
You’d think tv stations would know by now that you don’t tell MUSE how to perform.
A long time ago they played live on a UK tv station called Radio 3 and the station asked that they not curse in their song. Matt was pretty insulted since he’s never cursed in any of his songs and so decided to replace an entire verse with the f word.

MUSE!!!
Been on vacation, but had to post this.
Here it is. The only reason I braved MTV was to watch the VMAs for MUSE’s performance. I ended up sitting through a lot, like Kanye continuing to be an egotistical waste of anything and everything. I really didn’t care about any of the actual awards, but to take away some one’s moment like that is so… what’s the word?.....

Haven’t talked politics in a while. Mostly because it’s so infuriating that I’ve stayed away. I really hate when people use the word socialism though. Do they really know what it is? Do they realize that we have plenty of socialist programs already in place? I know of at least one that the people against health care reform aren’t against. A little socialist program called...

I love when an article goes back and references The O.C. This article is talking about tv dads and, rightfully so, Sandy Cohen is recognized.
From the article:
“It’s a tough choice with all the TV dads out there, but the real sleeper in the competition for best seems to be Sandy Cohen. Sure, the series had all the indicators of a complete chick-drama, but if you actually sat down to...

James Cameron Does It Again!
Avatar is going to be an awesome movie. He’s described it as Dances with Wolves…. with aliens.
Check out the leaked trailer:
Ok but seriously… it’s going to be awesome. It’s a pretty good time to be a sci-fi fan. District 9, Moon, Star Trek. Also, people who haven’t watched FRINGE need to catch up since second season starts soon. It’s seriously good...

Talking about the tech inside the new Zune HD with my friend Chris, Mainly the awesome Tegra chip. This is usually how our conversations end up...
me: dude... 24 hours of music play on one charge!
Chris: that's crazy! damn...
me: it's the tegra chip man. that thing is low power, and yet can decode HD video
Chris: who makes it?
me: Nvidia. It's gonna start popping up in a lot more stuff. I can't wait for a phone to have that.
Chris: when did they get into the processor market?
me: well it's actually closer in design to a GPU... so in that sense they have always been making things like it. But this is their first outing into the mobile general purpose computing chips.
me: They have their sights on Intel. should be an interesting battle.
Chris: hmmm... seems like a pretty hard ship to sink, I'd say, or rather, a pretty hard "chip" to sink... OH! I'm here all week folks... hahaha
me: HAHAHA... ba dum bum
me: You could say they are hoping to clean their clock... cycles!
Chris: OH! haha
me: They're goin-tegra-te some cheese on Intel's chips...
Chris: hahaha!

I’m totally nerding out over the Zune HD. I’ve been a Zune user (possibly one of two) for a long time now and I love the interface. They took that interface and just made it even better. Plus Tegra chip, OLED screen, and HD radio makes this a must have for me.
Check out the interface in the video below.

If you read that in the voice of Professor Farnsworth from Futurama, then be happy because Billy West will continue voicing him along with the rest of the original cast doing their thing.

Sarah Palin Will Be Missed
Doesn’t that seem like a pretty plausible explanation of how she writes speeches? I know I’ve always had a hard time understanding exactly what she means anytime she starts letting words escape her mouth. Is it supposed to be part of her folksy charm which she actually doesn’t have any of? Now that she has quit...

It's mad I tell you!
Madhouse is making an Iron Man and Wolverine anime. Now… I like anime and I like both those characters, but it’s just not a good mix. Ok for Iron Man they might pull off something kind of cool because it’s basically mech. It still won’t be Iron Man, but it will be eye candy. Wolverine however. You don’t mess with Wolverine.

Having little cousins 13 and under, I have always thought about how they never really knew a world without the Internet or cell phones. They never learned the tones of a modem dialing out to an ISP. They never flipped through an actual encyclopedia… or even a CD-Rom based one. They never knew of a time when, if someone wasn’t home… well you just couldn’t get a hold of them...

First off. Sorry about lack of posting. Busy week = unbusy blog.
Anyway. Those who know me, know that I’m a huge Futurama fan. I think it’s far better than the current day Simpsons. It's getting kind of ridiculous.
So now we have a Fox News guy talking about racial purity.
Here’s what happened. They were talking about a study where people who stay married are less likely to develop Alzheimer’s and dementia. But Brian Kilmeade of Fox and Friends, doesn’t think the study holds any water because it was done in Finland and Sweden, where they are racially pure. While over here we marry other...

Jon Stewart did an interview over here and it really highlights why I like the guy. We both have a similar view on religion and politics… and we hate hypocrisy.
From the interview:
“Religion makes sense to me. I have trouble with dogma more than I have trouble with religion. I think the best thing religion does is give people a sense of place, purpose, and compassion. My quibble...

As I’m sure everyone in the world now knows. Michael Jackson died yesterday from cardiac arrest. The guy was such a legend that it was kind of surreal to hear that he died. The guy was practically pure entertainment and just amazingly talented. “Thriller” is...

Oh Bolivian News... you crack me up.
I guess the crash of Oceanic flight 815 is pretty realistic as a news program in Bolivia aired stills from said crash and claimed it was Air France flight 447. The “photos” are in wide screen and taken from inside the plane that is being ripped apart… and also it’s daylight when the plane...

… that one day the name Sarah Palin will be forgotten.
There’s this feud between Letterman and Palin about a joke he made. You can read about it here. So it seemed like he made a pretty bad joke about a 14 year old girl. Well Dave is not an...
