I have a dream…
… that one day the name Sarah Palin will be forgotten.
There’s this feud between Letterman and Palin about a joke he made. You can read about it here. Dave made a joke about Sarah and Bristol who were in town, but later found out it was her younger daughter who was in town, not Bristol. So it seemed like he made a pretty bad joke about a 14 year old girl. Well Dave is not an idiot… if he knew that was the case he would not have said what he said. And yeah the joke was in pretty bad taste either way, but he did apologize. Of course Palin likes to play things up and act like she’s better than everyone so she’s “not buying it.” I really don’t care. If anything, I’m just mad that Letterman said her name. All he did was validate her belief that she’s important.
Palin is mad that her family got dragged into this, but she’s the one that did the dragging in the first place. Who used Bristol’s CHOICE to keep her baby as a political chip? I forget? Was it the “liberal media?” Yeah that’s probably who it was. Oh no wait… it was Sarah Palin herself.
Look, I’m not anti-republican or pro-democrat. I’m just anti-stupidity and anti-hypocrisy. People who know me, know that I have really just one major pet peeve. And that is I can’t stand people who don’t know anything, but talk like they do. Unfortunately for the Republican party, all the “big” voices are doing exactly that. Steele, Limbaugh, FOX News, etc… The only one that even tries to make sense (and might have won the election if he didn’t sell out) is McCain, who is probably going to be to old to do anything in a while anyway. And that’s a shame because I actually like McCain. I think he’s a good guy, but that he didn’t stick to he own beliefs during the election. He decided to become a “company man” and just lost himself and the independents that might have voted for him. I wonder how long it will take the GOP to realize that times change.
Anyway… that’s my political rant for the week.
